2018 - Freshman Drama Project (high school)

Full Belle ball gown with a corset style top, full skirt, and two pettiskirts.

The dress is loosely based off Simplicity pattern 8406. I was aiming to sew a dress that matched the 1991 Beauty and the Beast gown.

I took the corset top from the pattern and modified it to fit my body and the style I wanted. The skirt is also based off the Simplicity pattern.

I used a pettiskirt from my grandmother and I made a hoopskirt from my mother's wedding pettiskirt. I made three hula hoop shape rings out of flexible PVC pipe and sewed them into the wedding pettiskirt.

I love experimenting with different mediums. During COVID, I started hand embroidering. I like to sew free-hand flowers and leaves.

I focus on color and balance to create works of art on clothing.

Masks

During COVID, my family started to sew masks for the nursing home at which I work. I headed the project with support mainly from my mother.

I made and donated over 800 masks from June 2019 - December 2021.

As we continued to make masks, we began to make them adjustable to fit a wider audience.
